TODAY

We are privileged to welcome our District Governor MELANIE RICE as our speaker. Governor Rice will educate us as to focus of District of 5330 during her year as our governor. An active member of the Norco Rotary Club for a number of years, she brings her enthusiasm for the good work of Rotary in our communities to our club. Her passion is to help youth at risk throughout our District. Let us give warm Rotary Club of Redlands welcome to our District Governor

LAST WEEK

PIERS BRITTON, professor at the University of Redlands, properly informed us about all things that Alfred Hitchcock considered in the directing of his various films. Particular emphasis was placed on the visual impact and imagery the Hitchcock utilized to when adopting the written word to the cinema screen

With the help of input from Dr. Britton, we will all be able to enjoy Vertigo with a better understanding.

NEXT WEEK

THOMAS TURKEY or THOMASINI TURKEY (your choice) will be making an appearance at many of your tables next week. In addition, to Tom or Tommie, hopefully mashed potatoes and turkey gravy, cranberry relish, maybe a sweet potato or two along with some pumpkin pie will find their way to your table. This is just another way to let you we will be dark next Thursday.

Reminder – the Feast of Lights will be held at the University of Redlands, December 6, 7 and 8th. Always a great event and one that will get you in the holiday mood

Following the Feast of Lights, on Monday December 9, we have the opportunity to once again assist with the holiday party for the Purple Turtles at the Elks Club in Redlands. STAN WEISSER indicated that arrival between 5:30 – 6:00 would allow us to get started on time as we enjoy the holidays with our special guests.

Dictionaries – we have dictionaries to distribute again this year to 3rd grade students of the Redlands Unified School District. Please see JOE HORZEN to sign up for this always-rewarding experience.

Thanks to MIKE BOSMAN introducing the students of the month last week. While BARBARA O’KEEFE was not a student of the month, she was the proud grandmother of one our recipients. She probably deserves special recognition from our President. Congratulation Barbara – you did good!
