We heard from HEATHER ROSS from Asistencia. Prior to becoming the General Manager of the Asistencia, HEATHER had an active career with the Olympic Movement. She began as an intern for the International Games Division and rose to leading America’s athletes in international competitions. In 2006, she oversaw the Athlete’s Village for the Doha Asian Games and consulted with the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics. Her career extended to three Super Bowls and moved into movie premieres and concerts with Live Nation.
I am not sure any of us have seen JOHN TINCHER so happy than he was last week. Many have speculated that he has a phobia for technology and computers, I think we can all attest that the struggle for JOHN is real. JOHN led our club through arguably the most difficult time in modern history not just for Rotarians but all Americans. He never gave up, although many of us wished he would have on Zoom. He successfully brought his son BOB TINCHER into the club just to save face to the family name, that has been an upgrade for us. VICTORIA MARSHALL and her better half CHARLES were very kind to host the Tincher send off party at their lovely house. It was a smash!! We did not even need lifeguard JOE HORZEN to rescue ROY GEORGE from the depths of the deep end, we as a club are making progress!!
BEVERLY NOERR the Executive Director of the Redlands Bowl Performing Arts will be speaking about the wonderful schedule of events this coming summer. As most of you know The Rotary Club of Redlands has been a supportive partner of the Redlands Bowl as ushers during the summer concerts. We have 3 dates in this summer to help BEV which are July 6th, Sweet Caroline Tour tribute to Neil Diamond, Balsam Range on July 13th and Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band on Aug. 6th. I’ll have a sign-up sheet during club to show our support and fill up any spots that BEV will need.
THOUGHTS FROM THE PREZ
President – Elect
It is an honor and pleasure to lead this Rotary Club for the next 52 weeks into what will be a revival to in person meetings, events and social gatherings. I can without hesitation guarantee their will be no more Zoom meetings (unless we have a few members that need to get piped in for personal reasons) for our club this year. We are a social club, a service club and one that operates and accomplishes great things working together as one for the cause of service above self. I plan to uphold our wonderful and successful tradition of doing great things around the globe; more importantly the great work we do right here in our hometown of Redlands, CA. We make a difference; we help so many people and we do it with a selflessness that is to be respective and revered. Thanks again for the opportunity to lead this great group of people in our quest to continue to leave our mark in the world.
