TODAY

PAUL BARICH aka MR. MAYOR
MAYOR PAUL BARICH is also a proud product of the Redlands Unified School District graduating from Redlands High School in 1972. From there he attended UCLA and received a Bachelor’s Degree in History in 1977. PAUL taught for a year and then opened his own insurance business in 1979. The business has grown into a family operated agency that focuses on the needs of Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Medicare, and 401K’s. With a smile like his, how can you not trust this man!

Mayor Paul

So, let’s see what marvels MAYOR BARICH will “pop up” with today. I am sure he has a warehouse of information.

LAST WEEK

VICTORIA BENTLY

DR. VICTORIA BENTLY is a former member of Montecito Rotary Club and eClub of One World, presented a talk on the Pygmy Water Grant for Peace.

The presentation was well done by DR. BENTLY as she pointed out the level of poverty among the tribes is incredible. Further, the population is shrinking, and her project is critical.

NEXT WEEK

DR. DAN MIULLI, who is board certified in Neurological Surgery and currently practices in Colton and Moreno Valley where he is the Stroke Medical Director at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC). DR. MIULLI is also the Program Director of Neurosurgery Residency Program at ARMC. He has also written articles, book chapters, and lectured on stroke both nationally and internationally and is the Senior Author of the first and second edition of the book entitled “Neurosurgical Intensive Care.”

OTHER UPDATES

As JOHN PATTERSON, continues to be on vacation every time we have a Rotary meeting, MIKE BOSMAN will be introducing our speaker for the next two weeks. This may be a challenge as it requires MIKE to put more than five sentences together at a time. Just kidding. Thanks, MR. BOSMAN, for
stepping in.

PRES TINCHER announced the goal for our first “in person” meeting will be Thursday, May 6, 2021. If he is here today, maybe he can tell us if we are still on.

Perhaps today MS. MARSHALL can give us an update on the number STEWARDS she has signed up for the UNFORGETTABLES Foundation “Ladies Spring Swing” golf tournament. This brings up another issue in my twisted mind. If the charity is a nonprofit, then they are granted their status by the IRS which is a federal government agency. Therefore, those organizations receiving the benefits of federal
government regulations are also subject to Title IX regulations regarding equal access. Thus, this event should be “Peoples Spring Swing” golf tournament and the STEWARDS should not be limited to men. So, BARBARA O’KEEFE, you can be a STWEWARD, and NEAL WANER can play.

Sorry I missed our U of R representative, ABBI FINE, update. I am sure they are doing great things and getting ready for finals.

DEEP THOUGHTS RE: LIBRARY’S

Why are libraries the tallest buildings in the world? Because they have so many stories

Why did the cardiologist recommend that his patients go to the SMILEY LIBRARY? He heard they’re good for circulation.

How do librarians flirt? They ask you for your call number.

Why did DON MCCUE fall down? He was in the non-friction section.

What book did NATHAN take out for his cat? The Prince and the Paw-purr.

What did the librarian tell the person who checked out 100 books? Don’t overdue it.
