REDLANDS HIGH SCHOOL BAND
Not sure if this is the right picture, but this week we will have a music program from our very own Redlands High School. I am sure it will be a lot of fun and the kids will be happy as final exams are almost over. So join us as the, RHS music department visits us with songs and music to kick off the holiday season.
LAST WEEK
It was great to see JILL PRENDERGAST again at Rotary. She spoke to us last week on the wonderful things the Garner Holt Foundation is doing in the community. Teaming with Redlands Schools, Loma Linda University, Burrage Mansion, and other community organizations, bringing Jill brigs the STEAM learning experiences that expose students to a variety of careers while igniting imagination, inspiring creativity, and developing curiosity and critical thinking through problem solving and teamwork. What a great company.
NEXT WEEK
MEN’S QUARTET
Next week we have our Rotary Holiday Dinner. Of course, significant others are welcome, but we need a headcount. So we will be taking a headcount today. Plus to entertain us, we will have the “Men’s Quartet.” Not sure who they are but I hope CAL is not involved, as I hear he was kicked out of the
church choir.

ROTARY CHRISTMAS SOCIAL – December 15 at LARRY and CHAR BURGESS house from 5pm until 7pm. As the event is being underwritten, please bring a few bucks for Rotary Polio Donations.
BURRAGE MANSIONS CHRISTMAS DRIVE THRU – We need help again this year. So come and join us on December 16 and you might be able to ask Santa for something special.
The GARBIS DER-YEGHIAN 34TH ANNUAL PEACE CONFERENCE will be held this year at the NIXON LIBRARY on Saturday, January 27, 2024. Our club is one of the sponsors, so if you would like to attend, we have tickets available.
For those who will be in town, WE WILL HAVE A MEETING DECEMBER 28. Our program for that meeting will be a presentation by RAYMOND MOOREHOUSE on the Redlands homeless situation. Something to think about as we start the new year.
Next years president, THOMAS JACKSON, will be going to Singapore for his presidential training. Can we start fining him now??? All I got was Atlanta in July..such fun.
Don’t forget about the DIAMOND HEIST DINNER coming up early next year. I am sure we will have plenty of information in the weeks to come.

- Just burned 2000 calories. That’s the last time I leave brownies in the oven while I nap.

- Remember when we used to eat cake after someone had blown on it? Good times.
- I wish people would come with a 30 second trailer. So, I can see what I’m getting myself into.
- The other night I asked my wife to whisper dirty things in my ear. So she whispered “Kitchen, bathroom, living room.”
SCOUTING 4 FOOD
The results of the Kiwanis vs. Rotary “Scouting 4 Food” competition winner has been announced, and the Mighty RCOR came in THIRD! Our club collected a total 454 lbs. in food and $305.00 in cash. 1st Place: Optimists – 1,449 lbs. 2nd Place: Kiwanis – 752.8 lbs. In all, the service club competition brought in 2,655.8 lbs. for Family Services. Adding to 6,232 lbs. collected by Scouts and Scouters from Redlands shoppers, FSA has netted 8,887.8 lbs. and $305.00 from the 2024 Scouting 4 Food project. We’ll get them other
clubs next year!
PRESIDENTS MESSAGE
One of the favorite programs of the year is today (at least for me!). I always enjoy the holiday musical programs our local high school students perform for us, whether it’s singing or musical instruments. I look forward to seeing many of you at the holiday social tomorrow, and thank you again to our hosts
