Watching Star Trek, and dreaming of Tricorders, Transporters, and Warp Drive planted the seeds of exploration that grew into a career path for this week’s speaker, MIKE YARTZOFF. MIKE is an RHS grad and a Cal Poly Pomona grad. He has learned from experience that science is the best tool to take you from point A to point B when undertaking hard tasks. MIKE now finds himself living the dream and working at Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena. NASA JPL engineer, MIKE, will share stories of the highs and lows of working on multiple flagship planetary missions including Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover.
LAST WEEK
Club member SEAN LUGO’s better half, PATTY LUGO, shared her personal story of how she was stricken with Polio as a toddler and completely lost her ability to walk for more than a year. Through the power of prayer, dedicated family members’ care and much therapy, PATTY, was able to regain her strength and ability to walk but still struggles with weakness and significant disparity in leg length. This continues to be a challenge in everyday activities for PATTY. The importance of vaccination and supporting Rotary’s Polio Plus certainly has meaning to the LUGO family!

The Real Estate industry is a critical engine in the California economy. HEATHER OZUR, President Elect California Association of Realtors, will enlighten us with insight to the never boring, ever-changing world of California real estate. Today’s real estate market is very complex and impacted by many economic forces. Rising interest rates, a restrictive insurance market, and an excruciatingly tight inventory bring significant challenges to today’s market. We might also learn about what the California Association of Realtor lobbyists are doing to protect your rights as homeowners and how they work to help all adapt to the ever-changing playing field.

A week when temperatures are below 80 …. finally it’s beginning to feel like fall!
