WOLFGANG HALL has been involved with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) for nearly a decade, including a three-year term as president of the San Bernardino Affiliate. Did you know: One in five adults will experience mental illness each year in the U.S. One in six youth will experience a mental health disorder each year. Last week he shared his personal family’s journey through the ups and downs of living with mental illness with one of their children. The journey is very complicated and sometimes feels very lonely. Helping to breakdown the stigma and provide understanding and support to other people and families experiencing mental illness is a key focus in his life. He urged support of the 18th Annual NAMIWalks on November 4th in Hemet. Support can be with your time or your treasure.

On September 29, 1979, Rotary volunteers administered drops of oral polio vaccine to children at a health center in Guadalupe Viejo, Makati, Philippines. Following this success, Rotary launched PolioPlus in 1985 and was a founding member of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative in 1988. Through decades of commitment and work by Rotary and our partners, more than 2.5 billion children have received the oral polio vaccine. October 24th is World Polio Day, and we look forward to hearing a personal experience from PATTY LUGO, wife of SEAN LUGO. We appreciate PATTY being able to share her story with our club!
