TODAY

Craft talk Thursday has finally arrived! The program will be our own JULIE MICHAELS working her magic as facilitator in an interview format with several newer members of our club. We can expect insightful prompts, probing questions, and lively dialogue from the participants. There will undoubtedly be insights and insider information shared. The expected participants include: ADEKUNLE OJO, ANITA WEST, BRYCE BUNNELL, MARC SHAW, and BRIAN COCKERILL. Knowing JULIE, she may have a few surprises up her sleeves. Always a good time!

LAST WEEK

We were fortunate to host a fellow Rotarian, and Redlands CHIEF OF POLICE RACHEL TOLBER. Chief TOLBER provided a thorough and interesting ‘State of the Department’ for our club. We learned about the current composition and organization of our police force, comparisons with pre-COVID staff levels, and the many bureaus that work together to ensure public safety through innovation, building mutual trust, and countless community partnerships.

Chief TOBLER shared both local and county crime statistics and trends; she also shared authoritative and widely reported national crime statistics. Thankfully crime (violent crime, aggravated assault, murder/nonnegligent manslaughter) across the nation has been trending down over at least the past 3-4 years.

PRESIDENTS MESSAGE

Good afternoon Rotarians! Here in Rotary, we often think of big projects and fundraisers that make a big impact. However, today I want us to think of the power of small everyday acts of kindness and the simplicity of service. Whether it’s checking on a neighbor, sending a handwritten card of encouragement, helping at a local food drive, being a part of garden work day at the Burrage, or offering a kind word to a stranger, these seemingly small gestures contribute to the bigger picture of a better community and world. Let’s commit to sprinkling these small moments and continue to spread The Magic of Rotary throughout our week, and watch how they create ripples in our community. Let us always meet each other with a smile.
