LAST WEEK
CAL BOOTHBY & STATE OF OUR ROTARY CLUB’S FINANCES
Before a well-attended crowd (urged firmly by Prez JENNIFER DANIEL) CAL presented an overview of the Club’s finances and laid out its 2022-2023 budget goals and challenges. CAL joined our Club in 1998 under the reign of DAVE MAUPIN. He ascended to the Presidency for the 2004-2005 year, celebrating the 100th anniversary of Rotary. In 2011, he took over as Treasurer serving under 13 Presidents and 9 Secretaries. The Rotary Club of Redlands is a 501(c)(4) non-profit corporation. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) which has $$$ to be given away. He explained where $$$ comes from and expenses as well as outlining the budget. A decade or so ago, our membership was up to 150; now, we have 92 Club members. The budget as outlined is based on 82 members. The success of our fundraising events is crucial to the Club’s financial well-being, as is increasing our membership and participation. CAL’s power point presentation was succinct and detailed. If anyone would like to receive a copy please feel free to reach out.

TABLE TALK
(OR FOOD FIGHT PROVOKING COMMENTS)
How about that Chinese Weather/Spy Balloon?!? A couple more spotted over South America. Should we have let it float on (countersurveillance?) or shot it down sooner? Parts recovered and now in Quantico, VA. Secretary Blinken canceled trip. Those crazy Chinese. “Totally Not Spying!”.
