Maestro RANSOM WILSON our recently appointed Music Director and Conductor of the Redlands Symphony gave us some insights into his background as a both a performer/recording artist with the flute to his evolution as a conductor, director, and arranger. He also noted that he has “discovered” Redlands many years in the past and when the opportunity presented itself with Jon Robertson’s retirement from the symphony, he applied. Maestro Wilson reported that our symphony is in great shape musically and the performing his plans to extend it’s reach and influence in the community hoping to touch every person in Redlands. His vision includes “pop-up” or flash concerts in shopping areas and other areas where our citizens congregate as performing at schools, churches and other locales. He also envisions performances by various quartets (strings, brass, etc.) in these plans.
